The Chiossone Museum of Oriental Art invites you to discover Tanabata, the fascinating Japanese festival that celebrates star-crossed lovers and wishes. This ancient tradition, which takes place on the seventh night of the seventh lunar month, tells the love story between Orihime and Hikoboshi (the stars Vega and Altair), whose reunion in the night sky represents one of the most poetic moments of Oriental culture. Discover how the Japanese honor this celebration with colorful matsuri, tanzaku (decorated strips where wishes are tied) hung from bamboo branches and enchanting performances under the stars.
