Mimmo Rotella 1945-2005
Twenty years after the artist's death, Palazzo Ducale hosts an exhibition dedicated to one of the absolute protagonists of twentieth-century Italian art. The exhibition itinerary retraces sixty years of Mimmo Rotella's creative research, from post-war abstract experiments to the final New Icons, through over one hundred works from international collections. Five thematic sections analyze how Rotella was able to narrate, like few others, the society of images and consumption, using collages and overpaintings to deconstruct and give new meaning to the media universe.
