Giulio Cesare Procaccini. The Apostles Gathered

An extraordinary exhibition at Palazzo Rosso that brings together, after more than 350 years, six of the twelve canvases from the series of Apostles painted by Giulio Cesare Procaccini for the Genoese patrician Giovan Carlo Doria. The exhibition, curated by Raffaella Besta, Odette D'Albo and Marco Franzone, presents to the public for the first time the paintings depicting Saint Peter and Saint Bartholomew, restoring a fundamental fragment of Genoese cultural identity and seventeenth-century collecting. An unmissable opportunity to discover the masterpiece by the Emilian painter that combines Renaissance grace with Baroque energy, testimony to the extraordinary artistic patronage of early seventeenth-century Genoa.
